The Romanian Air Force IAR-330 SOCAT helicopter currently flying over the Târgu Bujor-Matca area in Galați County has so far identified no signs of impact and has found no debris or other elements indicating that an object may have fallen on Romanian territory, according to the Ministry of National Defence.
According to MApN, the air alert issued on Monday morning ended at 8:52 a.m., and the two Romanian Air Force F-16 aircraft returned and landed at the 86th Air Base in Borcea.
The incident was first reported on Monday morning, at around 6:00 a.m., when the Defence Ministry’s radar surveillance system detected intermittent signals in Moldovan airspace, in the Cahul area.
